Electrical Production Services is an Electrical, Low Voltage, and Fiber Splicing contractor that has been in business for over 30 years, and is currently seeking a Fiber Optic Technician II. Candidates should have a strong background in the fiber splicing industry with a high-level understanding of how to operate fusion splicing equipment and optical testing equipment.  The candidate should also have strong troubleshooting skills and the ability complete fiber splicing and testing projects with little to no supervision.

Job Functions:

  • Ability to read and understand splicing documentation
  • Full understanding of how to operate and read OTDR trace files
  • Prepare test results documentation to customer specification
  • Strong understanding of OSP/ISP fiber construction
  • Using fusion splice equipment single and mass fusion
  • Ability interact with customers in a professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Document fiber records
  • Strong leadership skills and a positive attitude
  • Repair fiber optic impairments or damages
  • Working in variety of elements inside and outside
  • Follow State, local and EPS safety guidelines

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform (Excel, Word, Etc.)
  • Understanding of Google Earth and files
  • Must have strong organization skills
  • Possess strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Use of EXFO Fast Reporter software
  • Ability to work OTDR, light meters, power meters and fusion splicing equipment – single and mass fusion
  • Ability to read, understand and follow written steps and procedures
  • Experience in OSP/ISP fiber splicing and cabling applications
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
